SIG Sauer SIG P6 9mm
The P6 is the West German police designation for the SIG P225 — adopted by the West German Federal Police (Bundespolizei) and numerous state police agencies in 1978 following the German police pistol trials. Mechanically identical to the P225, the P6 designation appears on pistols manufactured for German police contracts. Thousands were imported as surplus to the American market in the 1990s-2000s in excellent condition at below-market prices, creating a generation of American SIG enthusiasts who learned the platform on surplus P6s.
