SC Fabrica de Arme Cugir (ROMARM)

Overview

Romanian state arms manufacturer whose Cugir facility has been producing arms since 1799 — postdating the United States Constitution by approximately a decade. In the modern era, the Cugir factory produces the WASR-10 AK-pattern rifles that Century Arms imports to the US, historically among the most common and affordable AK-pattern rifles in the American market. Also produces the PA md. 86 (Romanian AKM variant), PA md. 90 (folding stock), and various military small arms for the Romanian armed forces. The ROMARM holding company oversees several Romanian defense manufacturers. Century Arms is Cugir's primary US distribution channel.
