MAS FR-F2 7.62x51mm 24-inch
The FR-F2 updated the FR-F1 to 7.62x51mm NATO, aligning France with NATO ammunition standards after formal doctrine revision. The 24-inch barrel added a thermal insulation sleeve to prevent heat shimmer affecting the optic view. The FR-F2 serves the French Army and has been used in deployments from Bosnia to Mali. The plastic-sleeved barrel is its most distinctive visual feature.
