Winchester Model 94 Pre-64 30-30
The pre-1964 Winchester Model 94 represents the pinnacle of lever-action rifle manufacturing quality in the American tradition. Before 1964, Winchester used hand-fitting, milled machined parts, and premium American walnut in the Model 94. The post-1964 cost-reduction program eliminated much of this craftsmanship. Pre-64 guns are specifically sought by collectors who consider the 1964 change a dividing line in American firearms manufacturing quality. Serial numbers below approximately 2,700,000 identify pre-64 production.
